Nissan Trading Co., Ltd., established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in April 1978. The Nissan Trading branches now encompass the world providing the automotive market with services in Machinery, product sourcing, distribution, and packaging needs. Located in the city of Yokohama, Nissan Trading is positioned well for servicing automotive needs in Japan. As demand grew in other areas of the world, Nissan Trading reacted to those demands and established branches in those areas. Nissan Trading now has branches in over 13 countries.
NITCO Mexico Aguascalienties & Mexico City Branches
The Branch in Mexico City and the satellite office in Aguascalientes oversee the supply of automotive components, steel, equipment, tools and spare parts to Nissan Mexicana, S.A. de C.V., and its component subcontractors. The Mexico City Branch also supports Nissan Mexicana's vehicle exports.
Located between the developing Central and South American and the vigorous U.S. and Canadian markets, the Mexico City Branch is ideally placed to profit from future business ventures in the region. The office also affords Nissan Trading numerous opportunities to supply leading Mexican Manufacturers with products in a variety of fields.
Nissan Trading Europe Limited
Nissan Trading Europe Limited was established with the upgrading of Nissan Trading's London Office to subsidiary status in January 1990. Headquartered in London, the subsidiary currently has branches in Amsterdam, Barcelona and Sunderland, in northeast England, as well as offices in Moscow and Kiev.
Nissan Trading Europe Limited currently supplies machinery, tools, dies and automotive components exported from Japan to Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd. (NMUK), Nissan Motor Iberica, S.A. (NMISA), and local subsidiaries of other Japanese component manufacturers, thus supporting the local manufacturing activities of Nissan Motor. The company also imports materials from Japan and catalyst metals from South Africa and supplies them to Nissan Motor.
The second pillar of the company's operations is the export of finished vehicles from NMUK and NMISA, as well as from Japan, to countries in Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Central and South America. The company is currently working to expand its services to European automakers, such as Renault S.A., with which Nissan Motor has an equity partnership. With automobile manufacturing's growth as a global business and the strengthening of cooperative relationships among manufacturers, the market for automobile production machinery, components and other products is expanding rapidly.
Nissan Trading Europe Limited continues to enhance its sales, information and finance-related capabilities, thereby reinforcing its position as a value-creating trading company. To reinforce its logistics services, the company recently acquired equity in two distribution companies in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, improving its responsiveness to a broad range of customer needs.
Nitco Siam Co., Ltd.
Nitco Siam Co., Ltd., was established in Bangkok as a joint venture with Nissan Trading Co., Ltd., Nitco Kyushu Logistics Co., Ltd., and locally based partners including Siam Nissan Automobile Co., Ltd., to provide a consolidated base for sales operations in Thailand and the rest of Asia. This company supplies finished engines, auto parts, dies, production equipment, processed steel sheets and other materials to a wide range of customers in the region, beginning with local Nissan Group affiliates. In addition, Nitco Siam concentrates on providing supportive services to customers who plan to build new businesses in the ASEAN region. Through close cooperation with Siam Nissan Group companies, SNN Tools & Dies Co., Ltd., and Nitco Siam Co., Ltd., will continue to support manufacturers in the export of their products, not only to the markets of the ASEAN region, but to the markets in Japan, Oceania and Africa.
Kyushu Office
The Kyushu Office adjoins Nissan Motor's Kyushu Plant. The office meets a range of needs of the plant and its affiliated companies by supplying materials, components and machinery. Established in 1983, the office supplies local customers with special and standard grades of coil, sheet and tubular steel for a variety of applications in the automotive and construction industries. It also deals in various plastics and resins, fuels, lubricants, components and numerically controlled machine tools. The office works in conjunction with two affiliated companies - Kyushu Tekko Center Co., Ltd., and Nitco Kyushu Logistics Co., Ltd. The just-in-time delivery system with which the Company serves Nissan Motor's Kyushu Plant, plays an important role in supporting the facility's production.
Nitco Kyushu Logistics Co., Ltd.
In April 1993, Nissan Trading invested in the establishment of Nitco Kyushu Logistics Co., Ltd., which is located near Nissan Motor's Kyushu Plant in Fukuoka Prefecture.
Nitco Kyushu Logistics Co., Ltd., operates two warehouses. The first, equipped with a remote control overhead transport crane with a hoisting mechanism for coiled steel, supplies Nissan Motor's Kyushu Plan and affiliated press makers with coiled and sheet steel as well as specialty carbon steel for forging. The second warehouse is furnished with loading and unloading equipment, suiting it for the supply of imported components and resin materials.
Kyushu Tekko Center Co., Ltd.
Kyushu Tekko Center was established in June 1976, at the same time as Nissan Motor's Kyushu Plant commenced production. In addition to being the sole manufacturer of coiled steel within the Nissan Group, the center is responsible for the production of processed steel sheets for use in body parts and wheel fixtures for Nissan Motors.
The center also houses three slitting machines that process about 8,000 metric tons of steel per month, as well as special warehouse facilities for the storage of processed steel sheets. Through the center's long association with Nissan Motors, it has developed a great expertise for high quality steel. In the next few years, the center plans to cultivate new clients outside the auto industry. In December 1999, Kyushu Tekko Center became the first coiled steel manufacturer in Kyushu to achieve ISO 9002 certification.
Beijing Office
The Beijing Office was established in January 1999 as an automobile sales base. By strengthening its cooperative relationship with Nissan Motor, the office is focusing its efforts on ensuring customer satisfaction and expanding sales.
Fuji Office
The Fuji Office was established in April 1999, adjacent to JATCO Trans Technology Ltd., and constantly strives to improve its services to these two companies, as well as to affiliated companies in the Shizuoka area, and to reinforce its marketing structure. The Fuji Office is also enhancing its services by providing information on materials, equipment and components to customers and tailoring its delivery schedules to customer needs.
Tochigi Office
The Tochigi Office, established in April 1990, is situated in Utsunomiya, the core city of the northern Kanto area, close to the Tochigi Plant, one of Nissan Motor's largest facilities. The office deals in coke, raw materials used to cast engine and transmission parts, fuel, aluminum, steel, plastics and resins, production-related machinery, etc., and meets any needs of Nissan Motor and many other materials and parts manufacturers.Currently, the office positively acts in new areas such as environment-related business.
